A: 今天我们自己做饭,不去餐馆吃了,好吗?
jin tian wo men zi ji zuo fan, bu qu can guan chi le , hao ma?
shall we cook our own meals today, instead of eating outside?

B: 好主意! 但是我们什么也没有,怎么做呀?巧妇难为无米之炊。
hao zhu yi ! dan shi wo men she me ye mei you, zen me zuo ya?
Qiao fu nan wei wu mi zhi chui.

a good idea! but how could we cook without anything? even a clever woman cannot cook a meal without rice.

A: 你说的“巧妇难为无米之炊”是什么意思?
ni shuo de "qiao fu nan wei wu mi zhi chui" shi she me yi si?
what do you mean by " even a clever woman cannot cook a meal without rice?"

B: 就是说“ 谁也不能凭空作出东西来”
jiu shi shuo " shui ye bu neng ping kong zuo chu dong xi lai"
i mean " nobody can made something out of noting".

A: 我明白了,在英语中,我们常说“ 没有稻草就做不成砖头”
wo ming bai le, zai ying yu zhong, wo men chang shuo " mei you dao cao jiu zuo bu cheng zhuan tou"
i see, in english, we often say " nobody can make bricks without straw".

B: 现在我们就去超市采购些东西,好吗?
xian zai wo men jiu qu chao shi cai gou xie dong xi, hao ma?
let's go now and do some shopping in the supermarket, shall we?

A: 好的。
Hao de.
sure.
