Has anyone here watched Beijing Opera or Kun Opera? I am amazed by their make ups and costumes.

Jingju (Jing Opera, or Peking/ Beijing Opera), and Kunju (Kun Opera) both enjoy national opera status in China. They are highly refined, visually stunning and very demanding on the actor. The four elements of singing, recitation, acting/movement, and martial arts form the basis of this musical and dramatic art. Strict control and pace, but also immense fluidity, are required in the performers’ use of hands, eyes, body, and feet. Dynamic interaction between actors and musicians in performance further adds to its vibrancy.

Yep, jingju is one of the most popular arts in China. Particularly, for old people.

Do you want to know how to draw a jingju mask? Come to our workshop (book in advance) and have a great fun! Cool

It is worth seeing. I just had a holiday in China.
In Beijing I went to the Chaoyang Theatre (潮阳大剧院)"Chaoyang Dajuyuan" and saw the opera "Lady White Snake" (白蛇传)"Bai She Zhuan". Very interesting and amazing choreography (舞蹈设计)"Wudao sheji" during the fight scenes.
