1. What sort of qualifications do LCA teachers have?
LCA employs native fluent Mandarin teachers who hold recognised Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language qualification. Teachers are specially selected for their friendly, dynamic and warm personalities.

2. How many students will be in my class?
The maximum size of the class is 12 and it normally averages from 6 to 10 students. 
 
3. How long is each LCA course?
Each course is 20 hours of classroom learning, you can finish it by 10 weeks of regular course (once a week) or 5 weeks of intensive course (twice a week). We recommend a minimum 60 hours of classroom learning is needed, which is the Beginners Mandarin. Depending on your time and objective, you can then continue with Elementary, Lower Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced Mandarin.
 
4.Must I learn Chinese Characters? 
Not really. However, the constituent element of written Chinese language is character not Pin Yin, and it mayl be difficult to go on studying Chinese above intermediate level if you are not acquainted with characters. So, teacher will cover some characters recognition practice, that you can identify them in the future.

5. What if I have to miss a class?
If you miss a class we will let you attend another group to catch up if such group is available. If not your teacher will help set home assignment to make up for the missed classroom time.

 
6. Will there be homework?
Yes homework is assigned every lesson. The teacher will also review your progress on a regular basis. 
 
7. How much is it for the course?
The fee for each ten-week term is £229/term for Beginners Mandarin Courses, £249/term for Elementary to Advanced Mandarin Courses. Discount (£50 off ) available for students who book 3 terms together. Contact us for details.

8. How to get the information of courses’ starting dates?
Non-complete beginner classes are year round so you can join any time, complete beginners classes starts every month. To ensure that you chose the right course, please contact us as early as possible.
